U.S. quartz countertop case briefing
U.S. quartz countertop case briefing: On the morning of May 31, 2018, US Eastern Time, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) voted on the preliminary damages of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation against quartz countertops inChina. All five ITC members participated in the voting in this case. The voting result was: 5:0. A preliminary ruling that quartz stone countertops imported fromChinacaused substantial damage to the domestic industry in theUnited States.
ITC will hand over the case to the US Department of Commerce (DOC) on June 1, 2018 for further investigation. According to the current timetable, the DOC will issue an initial countervailing duty on this case on July 11, 2018, in September 2018. The preliminary ruling on anti-dumping was issued on the 24th.
